Choosing a binding by page count

Saddle stitched: folded sheets stapled through the spine. Ideal for programs, newsletters and short catalogues. The page limit depends on stock weight.

PUR bound: a square spine with a strong, flexible glue. Suits thicker booklets and capability statements where the spine can carry a title.

Wire bound: opens fully flat, which suits manuals, workbooks and training guides.

Getting the page count right
Saddle-stitched booklets are built from folded sheets, so the page count needs to be a multiple of four, covers included. A self-cover booklet prints the cover on the same stock as the text. A separate cover uses a heavier stock and can take lamination, foil or spot UV. We'll help you plan pagination early.
